Meaning: My patience has run out

 

Example:

a)I’ve been waiting for him for 30 minutes. It’s always like this. That's the last straw!

Meaning: You don’t notice how long something lasts when it’s fun

 

Example:

John: Oh my look at the time. It’s time to go home.

Jen: I know right. Time flies when you’re having fun.

John: Thank you for inviting me! It was a fun trip!

Jen: No worries. I’m glad you had fun. See you tomorrow.

3) Under the weather

Meaning: Sick

 

Example:

John: Jen, please do me a favor.

Jen: What’s up?

John: Please inform teacher Ashley I’ll be absent today cause I’m Under the weather.

Jen: Are you okay?

John: I will just need to rest.

Jen: Okay, I’ll tell her. Get well soon.

John: Thank you
