First Birthdays

First Birthdays

 

Our family is not big on birthday celebrations. We’d usually go and have dinner out and that’s it.   We only throw a party when one of the kids turn one. This is the opportunity for the family to publicly declare that we, the parents, the family, and the chosen godparents, are entering into a commitment with God that we will raise the child in our Christian ways.

 

“Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], Even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
