I Am Woman
I have been following the debates regarding biological women and transgender women’s rights. It has become a heated conversation, especially in the United States, since some law makers are supporting the idea of blurring the lines separating biological female and trans women.
I don’t have a problem with people who have a different preference. In fact, you will find me supporting them. But I think, some groups are taking the issue too far, that they are stepping on the rights of women. This is where I draw the line. When asking for equal rights, one should also recognize the rights of the people outside your demographic. On this instance, people and groups should recognize that being a woman takes more than just putting on make up and pretty dresses, changing your physical appearance, having a preference for the same sex. The bottomline is that there is more to being a woman, and it should be recognized by all, it should be respected by all, it should be honored by all.
I am woman… hear me roar.
