Notable Philippine National Hero: Marcelo H. del Pilar

Today, June 12th, is Philippines Independence Day. I would like to commemorate one of the outstanding individuals who have made a lasting impact on our country ~ Marcelo H. del Pilar (1850-1896).

오늘 6월 12일은 필리핀 독립기념일입니다. 저는 우리나라에 지속적인 영향을 끼친 뛰어난 인물 중 한 명인 마르셀로 H. 델 필라르(1850-1896)를 기념하고 싶습니다.

 

Del Pilar was a journalist, lawyer, and well-known propagandist during the Spanish colonial period. He used his writings in newspapers like "La Solidaridad" to reveal the injustices and abuses done by the Spanish authorities. The war for independence benefited greatly from Del Pilar's support for reforms and his initiatives to enhance national consciousness.

 

델 필라르는 스페인 식민지 기간 동안 언론인, 변호사, 그리고 잘 알려진 선전가였습니다. 그는 "La Solidaridad"와 같은 신문에 그의 글을 스페인 당국에 의해 행해진 부당함과 학대를 밝히기 위해 사용했습니다. 독립을 위한 전쟁은 개혁에 대한 델 필라르의 지지와 민족 의식을 향상시키기 위한 그의 계획으로부터 큰 이익을 얻었습니다.
