Vocabulary:

Philosophy - the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline

Nature vs. Nurture - Nature is those things acquired by genetic or hereditary influences. Nurture on the other hand is those things that are influenced by the environment we live in.

Free-ride/ Free-riding -  the use, enjoyment , etc. of something without the usual expenditure of money or effort

Vulnerable - capable of being physically or emotionally wounded

 

Questions:

  1. What theory of creation do you support or believe?
  2. Do you think that belief in God or in a higher being influences how a person lives his/ her life? Why or why not?
  3. Do you believe in fate or destiny? Why or why not?
  4. Where do you think free will fits in the idea of life being driven by fate or destiny?
  5. Nature vs. Nurture: what is your opinion on these educational philosophy?
  6. What areas do you think, when it is okay to free-ride and when is it not okay?
  7. What is your personal strengths or qualities do you want to develop?
  8. People often say, “It’s okay to not be okay.” When and with whom do you share your “not okay” or vulnerable moments with?
  9. Do you think that showing your vulnerable side is a sign of weakness? Why so?
