• on a shoestring – doing something without spending a lot of money
• call it a day -  stop doing anything else for the rest of the day, or finish what is being done and go to bed
• luggage - suitcases or other bags in which to pack personal belongings for traveling
• pack light – not bringing a lot of things with them on a trip
• hitch-hiking - to travel by securing free rides from passing vehicles.
