A. Vocabulary

rent – a fixed amount of money that you pay regularly for the use of a room, house, car, television, etc. that someone else owns

barber shop – a place where men and boys get their hair cut

drugstore – a store where you can buy medications, makeup, and other things such as candy

quilt – a decorative cover for a bed

twist – to turn something, especially repeatedly, or to turn or wrap one thing around another

twirl – to turn something quickly several times

quiet – making very little noise

twin – either of two children born to the same mother on the same occasion

flat – level and smooth, with no curved, high, or hollow parts

festival – a special day or period, usually in memory of a religious event, with its own social activities, food, or ceremonies
